Hazardous Waste Facility Operations

The Hazardous Waste Facility Operators is a 40-hour course that provides information needed by personnel who work at, manage, or supervise activity hazardous waste (HW) Treatment, Storage, Disposal (TSD) facilities or less than 90-day accumulation facilities. Course trains personnel to perform their duties safely and in compliance with legal and Navy policy requirements. RCRA regulations 40 CFR 264.16(a)(1), 265.16(a)(1), and HAZWOPER 29 CFR 1910.120 (p) require training for TSD facility personnel. HMTA, 49 CFR 172.704(a)(1) and 172.704(a)(3) require training in hazardous material recognition and identification; and safety for each HAZMAT employee. HAZWOPER regulation 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(i) requires personnel who are likely to witness a release of hazardous substances to be trained to an awareness level.
