National Incident Management System

This course meets the Planning/Management level requirement as defined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Office for Domestic Preparedness.

One of the requirements of HSPD-5 is the development of a National Incident Management System (NIMS). NIMS is designed to standardize incident response management for all levels of government. The course uses common terminology and standardized practices, maximizing interoperability between and across levels of authority. This course qualifies the participant for the OSHA On-Scene Commander level and is intended for those who assume control of incidents involving WMD.
